Miyashita, Haruka appeared first time in August 2013 at the Fivb World Grand Prix in the match against Turkey. What was surprising was the fact to see her as a new face instead of Nakamichi, Hitomi and the fact of her height which seemed until that day to be a trademark for japanese setters (who were always the smallest on court.)
Her performance was good especially the timing with Nagaoka was often perfect.
Probably she will lead to a new generation of higher setters which are more valuable in international matches for blocking the opponents attacks.
In Japan she plays for Okayama Seagulls where she started as the youngest player in Japans history of premiere league at the age of 15 years (and 2 month). Her actions and digging are very ambitious and sometimes a bit rough which lead at her debut match in breaking 2 of her front teeth.
